Free NICVA training

Free training sessions and expert advice for local groups and community volunteers

Are you a committee member or volunteer who helps to organise the work of a community organisation, residents group, sport club, playgroup or any other community-based initiative? 
NICVA - the NI Council for Voluntary Action – is delivering training sessions in Ardoyne and Greater Ballysillan during March. These have been arranged in the early evening to suit those who might be at work or have other commitments during the day.

Understanding Governance is a free practical workshop to help groups to plan ahead, be effective and meet legal requirements. It will help those who have recently joined a committee / board or become a trustee of a small group; or those who want to understand more about these roles and what is expected of them.

Venue: Ballysillan Community Forum, 925 Crumlin Road
Date: Wednesday 6th March
Time: 5.30pm -8.30pm

Understanding Finance is a free practical workshop for treasurers, or anyone who keeps the financial records of small groups, to help them establish appropriate financial systems to keep their organisation safe. 

Venue: Marrowbone Community Association, 253 Oldpark Road
Date: Thursday 14th March
Time: 5.30pm -8.30pm 
(Refreshments served at 5.30pm with training starting at 6pm)
There is no charge to attend but places are limited and will be on a
first-come-first-served basis.
